It depends on the restaurant and the package. Some restaurants include plates, napkins, and utensils at no cost, some charge a per-person fee, and some don’t offer them at all. You choose at checkout. The video above walks through it, or follow the steps below.
Add utensils at checkout
1. At checkout, find the Utensils section under your order. It only shows up when the restaurant offers utensils for that package. Each option lists its price: either “at no cost” or a cost per person.
2. Options that come at no cost are checked for you. In this example, Add Serving Utensils is free, so it’s already added.
3. Options with a fee start unchecked. Check one to add it. Here, we add Add Plates, Napkins, & Utensils at $0.25 per person. The cost shows as Utensils in your order total.
4. To set a default for future orders, click Order Preferences in the menu on the left of your dashboard. Under Utensils & Special Requests, choose Yes, No, or Only if Free for Include Plates, Napkins, & Utensils? and Include Serving Utensils?, then click Save Preferences. Only if Free is the starting setting: free utensils are added, and paid ones aren’t.
How utensil defaults work
- Your defaults apply to each new order, whenever the restaurant offers that kind of utensil.
- You can still change your utensils on any order at checkout.
- The serving utensils default applies to buffet-style orders only.
What if…
I don’t see a Utensils section at checkout? The restaurant doesn’t offer utensils for that package, so there’s nothing to choose.
My order is individually plated? Serving utensils aren’t included, since there’s no buffet to serve from. The serving utensils default only applies to buffet-style orders.
