How do I share my in-house ordering link with my own customers?

Copy your in-house ordering link from your dashboard, post it on your own website, and see the customers who sign up through it.

On this page

Your in-house ordering link is a catering storefront for your own website. Orders placed through it are in-house orders, with no commission.

1. In your dashboard’s sidebar, click In-House Ordering, under Customer Relations.

2. Find your link under Share your link to get started! It opens your catering storefront. The Fees on In-House Orders table beside it shows the fees on orders placed through your link.

3. Click Copy, then paste the link onto your website.

4. Customers who sign up through your link appear under Your In-House Catering Customers, with their name, email, phone number, sign-up date, and the total they’ve spent with you.

5. To save the list as a spreadsheet file, click Download CSV.

Which orders are in-house

  • Orders placed through your link. They’re in-house even when the customer already had a CaterCow account.
  • Repeat orders from your customers. A customer who joined through your link stays marked as yours, so their orders with you stay in-house even when they don’t come back through the link. This covers orders with your business only, not with other restaurants on CaterCow.
  • Direct Entry orders. Orders you create for your own customer are in-house too.

The Fees on In-House Orders table shows your Commission on these orders and how card Processing is paid: your customer pays it at checkout, or, if your kitchens take payments through Square, it’s your own Square rate, billed by Square. If we send the courier for one of these orders, a delivery surcharge can be added on top (see areas CaterCow manages for you). For questions about your rates, email menus@catercow.com.

Under Brand Your Ordering Page, set Your Brand Color, Text Color, and Background Color, and click Font to choose a font. The preview below them shows the page your customers see. Reset to Defaults puts the colors back.

To add the link as a button, or to load the ordering page right on your website, see Other Ways to Share Your Link on the same page.

What if…

…none of my kitchens can take in-house orders yet? The page shows a warning at the top. Don’t share your link until at least one kitchen is ready. See Why isn’t my kitchen showing up for customers?

…the page says I need a subscription? In-house ordering is part of a paid Stable subscription. If the banner at the top says you don’t have one, or that it isn’t active, your kitchens can’t take orders through your link. Click Set up your subscription or Manage your subscription in the banner.

…a customer isn’t in my list? The list shows only customers who created their CaterCow account through your link, or while claiming a Direct Entry order you sent them. Customers who already had an account aren’t added, even when they order through your link.

…a customer mentions CaterCow referrals? They may mean our customer referral program, where customers earn CaterCoins for inviting friends. It’s separate from your in-house ordering link and doesn’t change your fees.
